Belize Mission 2009 – Informational planning meeting, Tuesday, Sept. 2 at 7:00pm in the Fireside Room.  The next trip is planned for March 14-23, 2009. See Mark or Lydia Brown if you are interested in the trip but are not able to attend this meeting.

 

Knitting Ministry - meets, Weds., Sept. 3 at 6:30pm in the Fireside Room.  All skill levels welcome.  Please join us.

Sunday Morning Adult Education will finish the summer program today, 9:00 – 9:50am in the Fireside Room with the series: “Listening for God: Contemporary Literature and the Life of Faith.  September 7, we’ll start at our new time and with new offerings.

 

Weekly Bible Study Tuesday mornings in the Fireside Room. 10:00AM  Morning Prayer, followed by discussion of the upcoming Sunday’s readings. All are welcome.

Shared Worship & Picnic with Spirit of Hope:  Mark your calendars for Sept. 14, when we will worship outdoors at 10:30am with Spirit of Hope Catholic Community, and share a picnic afterward.  Please bring a salad or dessert to share.  Meat and beverages provided.  See you there!

 

Ministry Fair – planned for Sept. 21st.  Watch for special opportunities that you and your family can make a deeper connection to St. Anne’s and your fellow parishioners.  Lots of FUN, painless ways to participate and serve the Lord. 

 

Yoga Takes a Break :  Due to the hectic  schedule of our instructor Jennifer Klenk,Sunday evening Yoga Classes will discontinue until further notice.  Stay tuned to the Yellow Pages for future exercise opportunities, with the possible return of Yoga.

 

First Friday Film Festival coming this Fall!  Co-sponsored by St. Anne's and Spirit of Hope Catholic Community: October 3 : "For the Bible Tells Me So" -- a documentary profiling 5 Christian families who have gay or lesbian children. Featuring House Majority Leader Richard Gephardt and Bishop Gene Robinson.  Learn more at the film's official website www.forthebibletellsmeso.org   Doors open at 6:30 PM and the film begins at 7:00 M. Moderated discussion will follow the film. Free and open to the public.  Donations will be accepted to help defray licensing cost.  Childcare & a children's movie will be provided as well.  Mark your calendar for monthly "First Friday Films" at St. Anne's.

Go Green!   In celebration of 150 years of ministry, the Diocese is partnering with Soles 4 Souls to gather new and gently used shoes for children of all ages.  This international non-profit organization collects and redistributes these shoes, as there are more than 300 million children worldwide that are without basic footwear.  Bring your donation, (shoes of any size and for any season),to church and place them in the box located in the narthex. 

"SAINTLY SEWING" Calling all sewers from St. Anne's!  A collaborative sewing group is forming between St. Anne's & St. John's Episcopal churches. Anyone with basic sewing skills is invited to join us the 3rd Saturday of each month, beginning Sept. 20, from 9:30 to 11:30 in the undercroft at St. John's.  Our first goal is responding to the Episcopal Church Home's need for walker tote bags and we have set our sights on making50 of these bags. Please bring your rotary cutter, ruler and board if you have them to help us get started our first meeting.  We plan to have "Tote Bag Kits" available at our Oct. 18th meeting so that if you can't join us you can make them at home. Any offerings of financial support for supplies will be welcome, but we are not able to receive any fabric donations.  If you are interested or have questions, please call Pat Murray at 651-699-4061 or Helen Michaels at 651-698-3710.

Bring in your empty ink cartridges:  Cartridge World will give us cash for empty printer cartridges – copier, printer and others - $.50 to $3 each, depending on brand, style and size.  They ask for brand names only please.  Gather up your empties and drop in the box by the office door.
