Those who prefer not to receive are invited to come forward at the time of communion for a blessing. Parents are encouraged to retrieve their children from the nursery and bring them to the altar for communion or a blessing.Healing prayers are available every Sunday at the time of communion. Saint Anne's is a congregation that loves to sing and enjoys good music. Adult Choir is open to all singers, high school age and older. During the summer months, vocal and musical ensembles provide anthems during worship. Bell Choir - 6:30 to 7:30 PM Wednesdays. If you'd like to be a ringer, speak with Daniel Pederson, Director of Music Ministries. Children's Choir - meets periodically during the year, Wednesdays 6:30-7:15 PM, and sings 4-6 times in Sunday morning worship. Children’s Choir Children 1st through 5th grades gather at 9:15 on Sunday mornings to sing, celebrate birthdays, hear a story, and pray. Music Director Daniel Pederson works with them to learn hymns for worship, and songs they can sing as anthems every 4-6 weeks. Lectors & Intercessors Children and teens who can read clearly and confidently are invited to serve as readers or prayer leaders in the worship service. Contact Lydia, our priest, to sign up and receive training. Acolytes Young people age 10 and older can help lead worship by carrying the cross in procession, helping with the offering, and assisting the priest at the altar. Contact Lydia, our priest, to sign up and get trained. Greeters & Ushers Children may serve on the teams that greet worshipers, distribute bulletins, and help collect offering. Books are from the parish library and are chosen to coordinate with the seasons and themes of the Sundays. Children’s Bulletins The scriptures for the day are presented through games, activities, and pictures to color. Two different formats, for ages 3-6, and 6-12. Available each week in the narthex, next to the Activity Bags. Youth Sundays Fall and Spring our young people plan an entire worship service, and take on all the leadership roles open to lay people. Youth Sunday is planned for May 18, 2008. Christmas Pageant A traditional, intergenerational re-enactment of the biblical Christmas story. Everyone has a role in the Great Story.
Especially About Babies & Toddlers Nursery Care Children from birth through age 5 are welcome to attend worship with their parents or other adult, or may stay in our professionally staffed nursery, located next to the sanctuary. Nursery care is offered Sunday mornings during Education Hour and Holy Eucharist, from 8:45 – 11:15 during the school year, 9:45-11:15 in summer. Child Care for Other Church Events Childcare is offered during all education programs and worship services. However, if it is not needed, it will be cancelled. Please indicate your need for non-Sunday-morning offerings, by calling the church office or being sure to sign up in advance for programs. Baptism and Holy Communion for Children Baptism We encourage parents to bring their children to church for baptism soon after they are born. Infant baptism is a sign of God’s unconditional love and grace given to us without our having to do anything to earn it. Holy Communion All baptized children are invited to receive the bread and wine. Parents are encouraged to retrieve their young children from the nursery, to bring them to the altar rail during Communion. Any person not receiving Communion may receive a blessing at the altar rail.
