New Fall Schedule:

    All the Time we Need
What if…  What if Sunday mornings felt like an oasis of calm in our busy lives? What if there were opportunities for children, youth, and adults to engage in activities and classes that fed our minds, recharged our souls, and made us feel rested and energized? What if our schedule invited more participation? …  did not feel rushed? … made us more aware of God in our lives? ... strengthened us individually and as a whole faith community?

Beginning September 7, we will adopt an expansive, slightly later, Sunday morning schedule.  The change will begin Sept 7 for adult education and worship; children's and youth classes will begin the first Sunday in October.
9:15-10:15
 Education hour
10:15-10:30 Transition time; coffee & juice available
10:30     Morning worship
approx. 11:30    Coffee fellowship

NOTE: EDUCATION PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH BEGINS OCTOBER 5.

The vestry has approved this change, hoping that:

  • Participation in education hour will increase, at all levels.

  • Choir members will be able to attend (most of) a class.

  • The later start time will make life easier for families.

  • The music/gathering time for elementary-age children will involve more children in “choir”, learning songs they can sing in church.

  • Adult classes will bring in outside speakers more often.

  • The full hour for education, and 15 minutes of transition time, will allow us all to “breathe” on Sunday morning, and to feel that we really are in a sacred space apart from the busy-ness of the world.

Sunday Morning Adult Education continues throughout the summer, 9:00 – 9:50 in the Fireside Room.  “Listening for God: Contemporary Literature and the Life of Faith.”  Fiction may not be the most predictable place to listen for God, but it may be the most rewarding.

Photos, poetry, sermons... you can find a variety of interesting things that inspire St. Annians on our community blog.  Visit early and often!  www.saintannesmn.blogspot.com

Survey for IX Bishop Search

Dear People of the Diocese of Minnesota:

Your Diocesan Search Committee is excited to be working on the discernment process for the IX Bishop of Minnesota, who will be consecrated on February 13, 2010. We are eager to have you join us in the discernment process by expressing your opinions about the talent and focus our next bishop should bring to the Diocese.

The link below will take you to a survey in which you can express your opinions about important characteristics and activities for our next Bishop.  To ensure that every voice is heard, we have made arrangements for the survey to be offered in English, Hmong, and Spanish.

This is a wonderful opportunity for every member of the Diocese to prayerfully consider the needs of the Diocese and its people and to listen to God's voice through all of the voices across our Diocese.  Please help us ensure that our common voice is rightly heard by keeping participation in the survey process only within the Diocese of Minnesota.  We eagerly await your responses to the survey.

Surveys will be collected between July 20 and August 20, 2008, but please complete your survey as soon as possible.  All survey responses are strictly confidential; your responses will be combined with others from across the Diocese and results will be reported at the 2008 Diocesan Convention.
